June 2017 - p.6
If you were attempting to describe what rock’n’
roll is to a stranger, then you may as well just say
it's Harry and The Howlers.
This Birmingham band, which comprises of
Michelle Dawes, Kris Hill, Toby Smith and fronted
by Harry Jordan heavily submerges itself in the
cult jukebox sounds of the fabulous fifties in such
a convincingly fresh fashion that they are almost
indistinguishable from any other artists on the
current music scene.
RGG magazine has been a very loud supporter
of Harry And The Howlers from day one for good
reason. They're praised by radio stations, adored
by gig goers and heavily impressing music
promoters everywhere. We love being right.
Harry And The Howlers release their debut self
titled album on June 1st. It's available on CD
from the bands’ online store or from most digital
platforms.
It's not uncommon for a band to have a slight retro
sound and pay a little homage to a musical era of the
past but it's very rare for someone to come along and
own it as if it had always been their creation...
