Verdict:
Pörk hail from Wednesbury and are
making a lot of noise on the gig circuit at the
moment. As far as I am aware they have no
album or studio recordings yet but they do have
this 6 track live EP on bandcamp.com which, if
you excuse it's rawness, is a very good
introduction to what could be a band throwing
you exciting releases in the future. Pörk dish out
more weight than your average act, boasting a
great live performance which reminds me of
heavyweights such The Melvin's for their sheer
primal aggressiveness and energy. Their online
live EP titled Nuclear Weather, which also
includes a cover of the Nirvana song Territorial
Pissings, really does the band justice as I've
watched them live. I'm thankful that they have
some recorded audio evidence of their material.
Watch out for these guys and tell them I sent
you.

Verdict:
There's definitely a very post punk
electronica vibe from this EP by Stafford band
Bradbray Apartment and although I can't say
they are the exact same ilk, I can smell a little bit
of Public Image Limited plus I got a tiny whiff of
Southern Death Cult, or Death Cult or maybe
even The Cult. Did I mention the word Cult?
There's a large flavour of new wave influences
here but this 4 track EP does offer something
fresh. Opener 'Another You' is a tight uptempo
synth punk rock stomp with a great catchy
chorus “All I ever did I did for you” and “there
could never be another you”. 'End Game' reads
lyrically like a page torn out of Morriseys
memoirs accompanied by some beautiful guitar
work but the highlight for me on here is the
closing song 'Into The Cold' which, in my
opinion, really is their strongest piece of
songwriting, epic in sound, sinister lyrics and
musically so well executed. Bradbray Apartment
offer a confident release which rings of the 80's
but isn't too stuck in the past. Personally I think
the electronica side is crying out to be darker but
hey it's not my band. Brilliant.
