RYAN'S GIG GUIDE SEPTEMBER 2015 - page 7

RGG September 2015 - p.7
A big music festival like Bloodstock of course
guarantees massive amounts of exposure for
new bands who participate Fans not to
mention bloggers and magazine reviewers
travel to investigate new music along with the
established acts that receive top billing The
festival itself is more than keen to promote all
on it's stages so any media going out with their
band name attached to it is great publicity The
influx of performers on the bill from the West
Midlands this year was quite noticeable and
could result in further interest in this areas

Television news now If you've been channel
hopping on Freeview or Virgin Media then you
may have come across this all on your own
“AMP'D” is the brand new weekly television
show from Big Centre Tv It's hosted by former
“Brummie of the year (
)” and Police
Bastard frontman Johnny Doom Normally
we're used to hearing his golden tones streamed
on radio stations such as Planet Rock but now
he's been pixelated and digitally compressed to
fit inside widescreen televisions up and down
the country in a compact and entertaining rock
music program which is very refreshing when
you consider what's on other channels Dross
such as mindless documentaries offering “What
it's like to feel spontaneous combustion whilst
working in a fireworks factory?” or banal
cookery programs hosted by cannibals amused
by their own turds
Doom does a superb job presenting a
groundbreaking music based show despite
looking like a character from the arcade hit
Mortal Kombat thanks to the basic production
values supplied by Birmingham's Big Centre Tv
Just to demonstrate how relevant the “AMP'D”
show is to metal head musicians in the
Midlands the afore mentioned Dudley based
band Left For Red were recently interviewed
and featured on the program another great
achievement for them and for promoting the
region musically
needof a ‘Happy Pill’
If you are a Midlander then you should
definitely support and tune in to this and other
music shows produced by the station such as
“Under The Radar” every week instead of
watching the cozy Saturday night karaoke
slaughterhouse with reality bending music
content that's about as desirable as having a
smear test on a Ferris wheel
It's been a crazy summer for some of us Music
festivals have as usual been the main talking
point in regards to gigs events and going out
Meanwhile small venues have had to work
harder to maintain their business whilst their
regular punters abandon their hometown to
live in a small tent for a week smoking pot All
the school teachers went on holiday or became
temporarily unemployed meaning that any
moms and dads who are in bands had to spend
less time being rockstars and more time spoiling
their ungrateful kids Thankfully the holiday
season is over in September and now is the ideal
time to go back to the depressing job look
forward to watching news reports on your
smart phone about more false flag operations
countdown the days till you die and return to
your painfully boring existence
That's all for this month now get lost
