Verdict:
Recommended for fans of
Hawkwind, Nirvana, Budgie and Motörhead.
This Dudley based punk rock band have come
along way since RGG first reviewed their debut
album. It's exciting to announce that the promo
sent in for their second LP is not only a worthy
follow up but potentially one of the hottest CDs
to land in the office this month and close to
burning a hole through the desk. Although only
a handful of tracks from the album are on the
promo, what we have here is a terrific sample of
what is to come. 'Internet Superstar' is a kind of
roasting of social media addiction, 'Another
Chain' is an obvious stand out Buzzard tune
because of its pure catchiness and groove. Not
everything is brand new here though. A
re-recorded version of one of their earlier songs
'Step It Up' clearly makes the second album only
this time features guest vocals from Emily
Abbiss. 'Kamikaze' has already become one of
their more popular tunes due to so much
reaction from performing it on the live gig circuit
and thankfully it too will be making the final LP.
Vallium Gorillas is guaranteed to be a larger
release from the band based on just the promo
and we look forward to the complete album.

Verdict:
Well it's really no surprise that
Swedish metal band Eternal Fear have a very
European sound, but what's quite unexpected is
that track three of their Killing Time album titled
'Black Country' is a respectful dedication to a
place many know of today as the birthplace of
heavy metal only here they've done their
research and really captured the darker history
of the area before it became renowned as a
portal for heavy music. The album begins with
an air raid siren allowing 'Thy Will Be Done' to
burst out with a thunderous metal wave.
Highlights are the before mentioned 'Black
Country'; amazing crunch palm muted guitar
riffs. 'Child Of Darkness'; total metal, great
bridge to rock out to. 'No Guts' I think is one of
the best on here, a real atmospheric work of art
and I love my stomping cut off riffs, wonderful
guitar solo. This ticks all the boxes and lyrically
it feels strong. Overall this is a heavy band
occasionally firing out riffs worthy of Carcass
(especially on 'Chamber Of Lies') but there's no
death metal vocals here. Singer Ove "Evil"
Johnsson has a powerful and commanding
voice making Eternal Fear what I'd call a more
traditional sounding metal act, a melodic version
of bands like In Flames but with more crushing
riffs. I loved this.
