Verdict:
I've said this before and now I have
further evidence to confidently state it again - this
is one of the best live bands out there on the
Midlands gig circuit. What better than a totally
live recorded album to prove it too? All recorded
at the Time Bubble in Stourbridge with
assistance from engineer and musician Steve
Foxall. This 12 track album features some
amazing performances. Opener 'Stepping Into
The Light' is like having an enjoyable trip to the
60s and 70s music scene and 'The Bigger
Picture' comes across as a classic The Rolling
Stones song - but not one you've ever heard
before. The energy displayed by the band is so
evident and their frontman Moore just has the
gift. Everyone in the band has the surname
Moore apart from Sir Roger who prefers to be
called Moor. If you grew up with The Animals,
Pink Fairies, The Kinks and the more punk-like
music from that great age then this should be
right up your street. They are in no way a copy
of any of those artists but they could easy have
played with them and fitted in. 'I Saw You In
Wilko'; one of the best mature break up songs
I've heard in a while and I was impressed with

the lyrics until being totally forced to U-turn afte
hearing 'Bad News' with the classic line "Look
like an overweight Richard Gere"; that line alon
sold the CD.
The quality and anarchic poetic observation
keep belting out, 'Skinny Jean' "...she's anorexic"
'Tired Of Living' "...without you". Lines you jus
can't predict such as "We were gazing at
painting of a crying Spanish child" on 'Will Yo
Ever Be Mine?'. Album closer 'Lemmings' is jus
way out there and you don't want it to ever end
It's the correct song to finish a grand record
A song that you want everyone you know aroun
you to hear, lyrically almost a full round up of th
woes of being a musician alive today. It'
unbelievably therapeutic to listen to and its fiv
minutes of observational wisdom spoken wit
such sheer class and confidence; you can't argu
with a confident man who knows how to sa
what's on his mind. This was a total delight t
review and I recommend you see Flying Ant Da
live for yourself. A truly inspirational album.
