Fundraising for Macmillan Cancer Support
The original motivation for raising funds for
this particular charity came from my
appreciation for the support that my father
received from Macmillan during his diagnosis
and treatment for prostate cancer He
completed his radiotherapy treatment on th
April
and has a positive prognosis which
I am obviously thankful for Throughout his
treatment he has spoken highly of the
Macmillan nurses that have supported him
The Macmillan Cancer Support relies on
charitable donations to continue the work that
it does I feel compelled to give something
back and therefore do something worthwhile
to raise funds to support this charity in any
way that I can In addition I hope to raise
awareness of the importance of the early
detection Cancer identified early can be
treated much more effectively and more
positive outcomes can be achieved
The event emerged as a music event due to my
association with Steve Upperton of Eventual
Fate Band and from just chatting with a friend
about wanting to raise money for the Charity
From then onwards it has become a live music
event the title of which is my father’s initials
J C S My friend namely Martin Stanyer has
committed to assisting me with the
organisation of the day which I appreciate so
very much The proprietor of The Full Moon in
Newcastle under Lyme has very kindly given
full use of the pub to hold the event on th
July which is charitable in itself
There is a line up of eight live acts that are all
performing free of charge they are namely:
