Ashcroft, who, with the help of other musicians,
brings the music to the stage in the form of a full
live band. On the gig circuit Sleuth has racked
up an impressive reputation thanks to good
receptions
from
many
unannounced
appearances at open-mic style events.
Sleuth show highlights include supporting
Bluetones singer Mark Morriss and performing
at the Northern Sky Festival with
Supergrass's
Gaz Coombes and
I Am Kloot's
John Bramwell.
2017 is looking to be a promising year for Sleuth
with plenty of live shows to look forward to
including this years Wolves Fest and the release
of their 'Coming Up For Air' EP which is available
from sleuthsounds.bandcamp.com. We hope
you will further investigate this marvel of
musicianship.
You don't need to be a private detective
investigating the Midlands’ gig circuit to have
heard the name Sleuth. This impressive indie
act originating from Wolverhampton appears to
be popping up everywhere on social media and
radio. Quite a few of the areas’ notable singer
songwriters such Ian Passey and PTR Williams
have been raving madly and showing their
appreciation for the music. So we here at RGG
have opened the case on Sleuth and are doing
some spying of our own.
This month sees the release of their 4 track EP,
arguably named after the 1939 novel by George
Orwell entitled “Coming Up For Air” and
featuring their Beatles-esque tune 'For The Idle
We Stand', which was first broadcast by BBC
Introducing last year before moving onward to
be played on BBC6 music and Radio WM. The
band is the creative outlet and brainchild of
