to add to their
playability that would not typically be
found in vintage style construction. One
unconventional method is the use of a PLEK
machine on all the guitars. A PLEK machine in
its most basic form is a CNC machine, designed
to take measurements of each instrument and
make minute adjustments for the best possible set
up. Friedman guitars using PLEK as part of their
manufacturing process is far from revolutionary as
many manufacturers have used it for many years.
For example, Gibson has been using it on both
their standard models and custom shop models
since 2006.
The guitars have a number of options you can
change to tailor the aesthetic and tone of the
instruments to your needs. You can choose
between either Mahogany or Alder for the body
wood. You can also make a choice between black,
candy apple red, metallic blue, vintage white, gold
or transparent red as your body colour. You can
also choose from a selection of four different pick
guards. Then of course, you have the choice of
either a rosewood or maple fretboard.
The Vintage T is the brainchild of Dave Friedman
of Friedman Amplification and Grover Jackson.
Dave has been designing boutique hand wired
amplifiers that have been well received by the
boutique amp buyers market. His amps resemble
that of a Marshall amp on some hefty class A’s.
Safe to say he has nailed his amp design so why
enter the world of customer shop guitars?
Dave has had a long history with vintage guitars as
well as vintage amplifiers. The idea behind the
Vintage T was to create a vintage style guitar with
vintage tone and feel but with more modern
playability. There are a couple of features that
have been used in the construction of the guitars
