controlled It's exciting to listen to and whilst
you can't ignore the incredible musicianship
that's gone into it the sheer madness of it all
is quite overwhelming Tracks like 'Reduce'
sound like a cybersex battle between Keith
Flint and Trent Reznor whilst up tempo
number 'Building A Better Boy' makes you
want to scream louder than James T Kirk on
the Genesis planet There's a high presence of
music art going on here The band's use of
technology and computer noise as a shell for a
very tight rock band is genius This is no
accident The three band members of TR
appear on the record primarily as an
instrumental trio consisting of drums synths
and distorted bass but there are tunes with
great energetic singing moments like the
groovy psychedelic and catchy 'Wot's In' the
Robocop villain vocal stabs of 'Reduce' and the
Jim Morrison like rage on 'Satan' Throughout
most of the other tunes there are clever
computer voice triggers which work perfectly
to enhance the energy of the music
Album highlights are 'State Of Flux' 'Reduce'
and 'Satan' An experimental album from an
experimental band with a fat sound using no
overdubs and relying on live "one shot
recordings" as they themselves boast TR are
doing something different to everyone else
The album finishes with 'Final' which appeared
first on their previous
release "All in the
Name of Machine Chaotica" My one only
criticism is that as impressive and refreshing as
an album this is once you get accustomed to
the synth sounds you can get too familiar with
some of them; but I enjoyed TinyRocketsRgo
so much that I couldn't give a shit really To
keep up this high standard of work I think they
will have to make sure that whatever they
release in future betters this album without
sounding too similar It's an enjoyable and
brilliant album
