RYAN'S GIG GUIDE OCTOBER 2015 - page 8

RGG October 2015 - p.8
Blasting off with killer opening track 'Satan'
which sounds as if a computer pop being inserted
the Bleach album by Nirvana into the Large
Hadron Collider then yelled over the top of it in
the vain of legendary British band Pink Fairies
and then did whatever the hell it wanted to this
devilishly good album is one of the freshest and
from one of the most original bands to come out
of Birmingham in recent years Super charged
metal pop riffs caked in distorted baselines and
drum n bass with eerie computer triggers that
sound like the most interesting thing Stephen
Hawking would ever say if I believed it was
actually him doing the talking
The entire album sounds like an out of control
experiment there's prog parts it goes pop it's
noisy some modern day influences like Royal
Blood millennium overtones of Prodigy and
Muse even some very subtle darker Depeche
Mode moments; there's total chaos on this
album but it actually sounds organised and
IN DRUM SYNTH FUZZ LAND OR JUST AN
ALTERNATIVE UNIVERSE OF THEIR OWN?
