RYAN'S GIG GUIDE MARCH 2015 - page 5

RGG March 2015 - p.5
Last year, Pete Lowe, Trina Keane, Ian Marrey
and Eddy Morton launched a monthly series of
gigs at Katie Fitzgerald's under the
Born, Bred,
Believes
banner. With nationally renowned
artists such as
Robb Johnson, Roy Bailey,
Grace Petrie, Attila The Stockbroker, Sunjay, Vix
and her MsChiefs and Eddy Morton
himself
headlining alongside established local acts like
The Humdrum Express, The Empty Can and
Black Country Gaz
. The next generation of local
talent have also graced the Cellar Bar stage with
Jess Silk, Esther Turner, Kyra, Danni G
and
many others demonstrating that the Black
Country has talent.
Out of the
Born, Bred, Believes
gigs the idea
of the
Stourbridge Foundation 4 Music
was
born. The Foundation will aim to provide support
to local musicians who find themselves in
difficult circumstances as well as provide advice,
guidance and practical help to young local
musicians who are setting out on a musical
career.
Many of the artists who have played at
Born,
Bred, Believes
have donated a track for an
album to raise money for
The Stourbridge
Foundation 4 Music
and the album was
officially launched on Sunday 22nd February at
Katie Fitzgerald's and is now on sale for £10 with
a digital release to follow. The launch party from
3pm until 11pm featured live music from
Eddy
Morton, The Humdrum Express, Vix & Her
MsChiefs, Jess Silk, The Empty Can
and many
others who have played at
Born, Bred,
Believes
over the past year. There was also a
special performance by Pete Lowe. Pete said;
“Music has always has always played an
important part in my life and I was thrilled when
Eddy invited me to get involved in a monthly
music night and now the
Stourbridge
Foundation 4 Music
. The aim of Born, Bred,
Believes is to bring together people of similar
attitudes, values and beliefs regardless of their
political affiliations. We have supported some
great local charities and causes raising money
and their profile. We have hosted some great
musicians and helped provide exposure to local
artists. All of our artists have been paid and now,
through The Stourbridge Foundation 4 Music we
aim to help and support local musicians in any
way we can
."
Eddy Morton of Katie Fitzgerald's added;
"In our experience musicians and local artists
are constant supporters of many and varied
charities. The foundation will provide the
opportunity to give something back to that
community of musicians”
The next
Born, Bred, Believes
gig is Thursday
12th March with Leon Rosselson @ Katie
Fitzgeralds, Stourbridge.
