Verdict:
This is the bible for songwriters;
artists like Ed Sheeran will never come close to
the natural talent possessed by legendary
Kidderminster
multi-instrumentalist
and
songwriter King Rich. This inspiring diverse
acoustic driven singer and performer releases
batches of his work like clockwork every two
years and this twenty song collection is by far
the best yet. “Miss Gloria” is King Rich
classically breaking all his rules purely because
he can. What begins as a delicate American folk
sounding church voice transforms into a
Weezer-like dirty pop anthem; absolute genius.
“The Wild Sea” vocally revisits some of the more
eccentric moments of his early career, wild as
ever but under the hidden guise of a more
controlled environment. “Heart 4 a Compass” is
musically everything you need to know but will
never achieve. Sheer showmanship, lyrical
wizardry and smooth guitar playing - song

Verdict:
Stourbridge based alternative indie
power pop songwriting team Mark Britton and
Mike Turner first founded Amoeba Teen in 2010.
They later had a three year break and then
reformed in 2016. To mark their return to the
stage they've wisely released this eleven song
collection featuring some of the amazing tunes
written during their years of activity. The band
have a wealth of fantastic songs to enjoy; the
production is wonderful and songwriting
standards are higher than the Californian pot
smoking society. Highlights include “The Silver
Lining” with it's Beach Boys meets The Pixies
vibe and the arguably extremely Beatles inspired
“Long Live Memory Lane” and “Dear Rosa.
Highly recommended for fans of Teenage
Fanclub, Jellyfish and Big Star.
