attacking to bring you down they'll say mean
things; I've heard the worst things that I
couldn't even imagine people would even say to
someone that they've never even met before
I've heard it all At first I was getting upset
because it was new to me; then I realised that
who gives a shit? You wanna talk shit about me
then why don't you fucking do it? We need
more help So if you think I'm doing something
wrong then why don't you do it right because
then you're helping me too"
“You'll be lucky if you make any money that's
why I try to do my shows with my own rules
some of my shows are free where nobody gets
paid including myself For the shows that I have
with a cover charge on it the bands after a
certain amount of people they bring anything
else they bring after that goes straight into their
pocket by me in cash”
“The reason that most of these bands are so
upset and pissed off is because of all these pay
to play things I will give you the answer as to
why there is pay to play; I don't do it personally
I try not to do it but it's because the clubs have
gotten tired of letting bands come in and then
not bring anybody Bands think that the clubs
owe them the clubs don't owe you! If you're
bringing business to them you gotta make
money if you don't bring business to them
they're basically having their club open for you
to do whatever you want to do in front of
nobody so it makes you look bad They won't
want to book you you make the promoters
look bad and no one will want to touch you
anymore; so if you're not ready to bring a
certain amount of people into a club that is
required by you to bring then don't do the
show”
“I try to give back but only if they pull it off If I
say “Hey make sure there's people there and
after that whatever is yours” they get paid If
they listen then they will get paid If they don't
listen then not only do I look bad and that I

won't want them in my shows anymore but the
club will not book them either because they'll
have their eye on the bands too and believe me
they got a list on who did what So next time
they go there even if I'm not the promoter or
whatever they'll say “last time you brought no
one so we don't need you here” because there
are bands that can pull people in”
“Between one band it's very simple If you're
just starting out to do this in this business you
need to make a good impression right off the
bat so if someone gave you the opportunity to
play anywhere there's at least four people in
most bands sometimes more out of those
people they must have a girlfriend or boyfriend
one friend a mom or dad cousin uncle this
that bring them all out If each person does that
there's fifty people there”
“You need to act like how bands were acting in
the eighties they were running around the
street every frickin night handing out and
begging people to come to their shows and I'm
talking about big bands really really big bands;
that's how they started You do everything to
bring people you go make friends first you
can't just hand someone a flyer and expect them
to show up it's not gonna work they gotta feel
connected to you to give a shit Especially in
some place like LA there's five thousand shows
going on every night they gotta choose which
one to go to; you gotta make a really good
impression for people to come out”
