“You could be looking at one of her best releases and
one of the most exciting and freshest alternative
sounds in quite some time.”
Nockalls
Weight Of The Nation
is the epic opening
track from the second album by Erica Nockalls
who you should be well aware of by now is the
professional violinist of The Wonder Stuff and
The Proclaimers We were fortunate to receive
the first three tracks from this limited edition
self release titled "EN " and I'll be honest it
wasn't what I was expecting at all For starters
I was assuming musically that this would be
aimed primarily at followers of the two bands
mentioned above that I knew she has
performed with; I'm quite impressed that I can
say that as well as admirers of her other
previous work Erica and her band are likely to
attract fans of the likes of Nine Inch Nails Korn
and Lizette & It's still Erica Nockalls through
and through sounds more fiery than her debut
album which I've now also heard and it appears
she's kicking even more rockstar ass
Yours Still
Stinks
has such powerful dark melody and
atmosphere that it would have sat well within
the metal soundtrack of the movie
Queen Of
The Damned
; which if you remember was
produced by Jonathan Davies of Korn and
Richard Gibbs If the entire EN album has the
variety and substance that these opening tracks
do then you could be looking at one of her best
releases plus one of the most exciting and
freshest alternative sounds in quite some time
Her performance here is slick and professional
and with this bigger and harder
edge she will have a new army
of supporters for sure
This album is definitely
a wake up call
