The Murmur Story is a great rockumentary about The Murmur - a band formed in 1994 at King Charles High school in Kidderminster.
Produced by Colin Carpenter, the film tells the story of a group of 14/15 year old lads who, at the height of the Britpop period were discovering beer & girls and playing gigs in local pubs and clubs.
They gained a siginficant local following and began travelling the coutry playing gigs and getting national radio plays and creating a bit of a buzz among record companies.
Featuring interviews with the band, family members & archive gig footage, the film is a fascinating insight into the relationships & struggles of a band trying to achieve the big dream while balancing the complications of ‘real’ life. Music fans will enjoy this film even if you’ve never seen or heard of the band you’ll come away wishing you had been there to witness a local band doing their thing and almost making it big.
