The People’s Orchestra, a charitable organisation based in Birmingham and The Black Country, are hosting a one-off free event called Page To Stage: Music For Mental Health on Saturday 16th November at West Bromwich Town Hall, 1pm-6pm.

Orchestra manager Liz Read, told us all about the event... "It is a composition workshop designed to combine our passion for music whilst opening up channels to discuss mental health.

Throughout the afternoon, we aim to share experiences of mental health through a poetry workshop, followed by a composition workshop to turn our poetic ideas into musical soundscapes. Following on from that, Kirsty Devaney (composer) will take these soundscapes and create a specially-commissioned work for our orchestra and choirs to perform in a concert next year to raise awareness around mental health.

It is open to all musicians and singers, no matter their level of experience – please come prepared to share ideas and help guide the creative process."
