RYAN'S GIG GUIDE January 2017 - page 35

have come together a lot quicker this time
around and we’re really liking the way the songs
are sounding, for us it feels quite different and
so were enjoying the ‘anything goes’ approach
to writing at the moment. After being in a band
together for 7 years we have worked out what
works best with new ideas and are willing to
take bigger chances”. Taking chances and risks
go hand in hand and when questioned, it seems
these guys aren’t afraid to work outside of the
box. So will there be anything on the new record
that will shock and/or surprise fans? “I think this
record will cause some waves amongst our fans
who like our old school thrash elements
because with this one, we're really trying
something new and lots of very different stuff. I
don't think we'll ever totally leave that thrash
backbone behind, but the new record will
definitely have some interesting twists in there”
admits Andy with Pat stating: “I think people are
going to see a whole different side to us”.
The band have recently been playing a small
string of UK dates in support of their last record,
Andy fills me in on how it’s been. “It's been
great; Leicester was a particularly fun one as we
got to play with our friends My Legacy. We also
really enjoyed Beermageddon and the Midlands
Metal Crusade with Evil Scarecrow; both of
those were awesome shows. We had a great
one with our friends in Gehtika at the O2
Birmingham for Halloween too, which was a
blast!!”. So, as one door closes, another opens
and plans for 2017 seem pretty simple for the
Midlands group, with the majority of the year
being occupied by gigs, festival appearances
and writing for their new record, as well as plans
to film another music video for a track off their
latest album. “The New Year will see us play
loads more shows and some intense writing to
try and get this album complete for the end of
the year. We're chatting with a few bands and
looking at trying to put together a couple of
European runs later in the year, so hopefully
they come off and we can get out of the UK for
a bit. We start our End of Humanity Tour in
January, which will be our last run of dates in
support of our Edge of Humanity album, then its
back in the studio with Russ to make a new
record”, enthuses Andy.

our collective influences, and that definitely
motivates us to still get up and make music”.
It’s been almost a year since their last record
Edge Of Humanity
hit shelves, and Eradikator
have already been keeping themselves busy
working on new material with Andy admitting
that they’ve got 2 songs complete and a 3rd
that’s half way there. I pick both their brains to
find out where things are up to and question the
records’ release date. “We have started writing
songs again in the last few months for the new
one, we still have shows left in support of the
latest album but it is our goal to be back in the
studio next winter”, says Pat. He talks me
through how the recording sessions for this one
compare to their last two: “The early demos
