Local prog-punk legends return to stage for last time
Legendary Brum prog punk band Dangerous
Girls are to play a final reunion gig at the Hare and
Hounds in Kings Heath on Thursday April th
The band first formed in
gigged
regularly in the late s and early
s with the
likes of Au Pairs The Beat Denizens Dexy's Midnight Runners Fashion
The Nightingales and UB They have held reunion gigs for the last three
years supported by other local punk veterans The Everreadys The
Surprises and The Privates with all three acts reforming specially for these
gigs This last show celebrates the original band’s final gig which they
played years ago in May
at the University of Exeter Dangerous
Girls are pleased to announce that the other act appearing with them will
be non other than "Top Comedian" Ted Chippington who fellow comic
and admirer Stewart Lee describes as
a mixture of surrealism and insolent
provocation and uncompromising boredom
Though Ted describes himself
as an "anti comedian" and that he only started doing his act "to annoy
people"
To coincide with the gig a CD produced by Dangerous Girls drummer Rob
Peters is to be released to commemorate the band's fourth single "Step
Out" first issued in April
