Black Country Festival at the
Red House Glass Cone
The Red House Glass Cone in Wordsley is hosting a
three day festival of comedy, music and poetry as
par t of the Black Country Day celebrat ions.
the cone and this event builds on the success of
last year’s Folk Music weekend. The three day
festival of comedy, music, art and poetry is a
fantastic celebration of our Black Country
Heritage and I hope that local people make the
most of this treasure trove right here on their
doorstep.”
Councillor Pete Lowe, deputy leader of the
council, said:
“The Black Country is famous for its industrial
heritage, but we also have a strong tradition of
comedy and music. Our friendly accent and
inventive dialect lends itself well to lyrics and
poetry. This three day event at the Red House
Glass Cone, as part of our Black Country Day
celebrations, is a fitting tribute to our cultural
heritage and a celebration of our art and music
as it stands today.”
Proceeds from the Saturday event will go to
